DUDE! CAPS LOCK!
It might help to use a different conditioner. I usually don't use Suave products, but I find that Suave Professionals Humectant Conditioner is very good, if you can take the coconut smell. I also use Tresseme Conditioners. For a leave in conditioner, I do think that the Pantene detangler/light coditioner is the best. But unfortunately, weaker hair is part of aging. You don't see many old ladies with real long hair. Old ladies have a bunched up perm. Maybe it's best to be happy that you still have hair and that it can still grow past your shoulders.

The man said he was 57, not 87! While his terminal length may be less than it was, I doubt he's to the "old lady" stage just yet. The problem is likely the "harsh soap" type products he was using on his hair before. Most of the hair on his head has been there awhile, and so has been subject to that abuse. Given time, and gentle care, it should grow back just fine.
