It takes me over an hour (or sometimes 2) to dry my hair. I was wondering if there are easy ways to dry it without using a blowdrying. Is airdrying the only way? I think my hair gets more messed up so I usually just take a small towel and wrap it around my hair.
A couple of years ago I saw an advertisement for a comb that supposedly dries your hair. I haven't seen it since, nor have I seen a sample, so I can't comment further. Moving to Arizona should do the trick.
Seriously, though, what I do is to make sure my hair is as detangled as possible while I'm still in the shower. Then, I keep my hair as parallel as possible and squeegee it with my fingers a few times. Then I spin my head at about 1200 RPM. Oops. That's right, I said I would be serious. What I do then is to carefully separate it into a sheet of hair that is as thin as possible. I hold a towel up to it so I basically have a layer of towel and a layer of wet hair. Then I roll the towel/hair combination together. To the shock of other long hair aficionados, I then twist the hair/towel sandwitch. If you're concerned that this will damage your hair, simply keep the towel on your hair this way for a few minutes. If you like, take the towel off and repeat with a dry towel.
Using this technique, I've found, perhaps counterindicatively, that thinner towels work better.
hmmmm...I will have to try that!
i try to avoid having to rush dry my hair at all-- showering when i have a couple hours to let it air dry. on the occasion that i have to go to work with wet hair i towel dry it to damp then tie it back just before leaving for my job- normally i shower & wash immediately after work.
