Does anybody here wear more than 1 hair band on a ponytail at once? My ponytail is starting to get long and puffy but not long enough to braid easily. I'm thinkin' of tying the ponytail like every 2 inches past the head. Does that sound right?

Sometimes I wear two, an inch or so apart. I don't think anyone does exactly that, but it looks cool to me. :)

i wear 5 or 6 when i ride my motocycle so my hair doesnt get tangeled.somtimes i wear 2 or 3 to work also.
The only time I do is when I braid my tail, which is very seldom.
I occasionally wear it that way with three or four.
My tail is long enough that just two doesn't look
very even.
I find the problem with this is that all the hairs that are
just barely long enough to make it to each individual
band will slowly come out, and you'll have x number of
places where stray hairs develop rather than just one.
I know this guy at my school that wears his tail like that everyday. He has really really bad looking hair and I guess that's basically his only option, even then the top and front still "frizz out" sometimes.
this is how i wear it to work... the pic is a couple years old
that looks really cool!
Well I sometimes do this trick that I think is pretty unique that sort of falls into this category. I don't have a name for it, so I'll just describe the technique:
* Tie your hair back into a regular pony tail but don't put the tie too close to the scalp. If you want you can tie it regularly and then pull the holder out a bit. The reason for doing this will be revealed in a couple of steps.
* Now bend over so that the pony take is sticking straight up. This step is not really needed if you can manipulated the hair with your hands, but it helps to illustrate what is going on.
* Arrange the hair around the holder in a sort of circular fountain. Now affix another pony tail holder.
* Gather the hair together again just like a regular pony tail again and attach another pony tail holder. Now you've just made an onion in your hair.
Repeat this procedure to make a chain of onions. If you get tired of long hair, you can use this technique to temporarily cut out about half the length. Then you can do another cool thing. It's kind of like girls being able to remove their bras without taking off their shirt. Yank the onion chain and half the pony tail holders will pop off. Now your hair will be arranged in a sort of sequential poofy pattern, like a chain of sausages or something. Inside each sausage is a pony tail holder that is easy to take out.
Another potential benefit to doing this is that if you leave it in your hair long enough, you get wavy hair when you undo the onions.
Because you can make your hair temporarily shorter...
but I also like the idea of adding Waves!
Thanks for the tip!
