I'm 14 and mixed-blcak,white, indian. I have have curly and i'm trying to grow my hair out to a ponytail. It's a little past my eyebrow and i've been growing it since october '97. I use gels and other crap to keep it under control but sometimes it just doesn't work. I need help on how to calm it down during the bad hair phase I'm going through. My mom relaxs my hair a little too make it more wavy that works but it still looks bad sometimes. Please reply.
at the risk of sounding flippant (not my intent)- wear a hat.
I can't wear a hat in school and my dad won't let me have that "cornrow" hair style plus it really hurts. I wear it push back usually. But I need something different
A bandanna works good for curly hair that isn't real long yet. If you part your hair in the middle, your hair will all reach the bandanna long before it will reach a pony tie in the back.
I need to find a step by step instruction guide to cornrows but i cant find a book or instructional tape can you help?
beyond the hat suggestion, have you considered 'cornrow' style braiding? i've seen this on black men and think it looks very cool. you'll have to find someone who knows how to do it- and i think that it's time-consuming, but the results may be well worth the time.
