Glancing at the new Glamour over the weekend (Hey, I was in the bathroom and it was lying there), I happened upon the results of an online readers poll to the breathless question, "Long hair on men: Is it a 'do' or a 'don't'?" 71 Percent called it a Don't, while 28 percent called it a Do.
No problem. I figure the same brilliant 71 percent would say that bombing the bejesus out of Iraq is a "Do."
. . . JP in San Diego.
That doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
I live in Kansas City. I can't remember the last time I saw a man with hair below his ears (if I don't count, that is, the longhair that works in my office). Long hair is a huge Don't these days, which is why those of us with long hair are so much more prone to attract attention.
If you're the shy type and trying to grow long hair, prepare to receive a lot of attention. Long hair is not for the timid.
Cool! I live in KC too. I assume you don't work in my office though.
I've seen quite a few longhairs here in KC. Still though, we're a rarity!
I agree with the "no suprise", but I will say that I went to HOme Depot to get some gardening supplies this morning, and while I was there, I ran into 5 other longhaired men, very long. All of us had hair past our shoulders. It was cool. And in Alabama no less.

yep, i agree with robert....and oddly enough, i too was at a home depot recently...in alabama none-the-less, and found several longhairs as well...

Be careful. In this instance, I'm a guy who thinks that long hair on guys is a "do," and bombing Iraq in order to implement regime change is a "must." Since that last is WAY off topic, any further discussion with me on that particular subject can take place via email.
Once again, DON'T GENERALIZE. It's just as wrong when we do it about others as it is when others do it about men with long hair. Or body piercings. Or who are gay. Or straight. Or Christian. Or Atheist. Or...well, you get the idea.
Take it easy,
Scott (of the long hair)
scott,
it has been a while since i have been to your site....you have updated some pics of yourself....those at the bottom look great man! incredible-looking hair! congrats!!!

Well, actually, I'm in favor of blowing Saddam up. And, I'd fit into the 28% who said long hair is a "Do".

Who subscribes to Glamour Magazine anyway?
Somebody forgot to give those statistics to all the girls that like to admire my hair.
Please go to a political board. Although I've responded to [some] political posts (I'm getting tired of it)-- frankly I come here for discussions about HAIR -- as I'm sure many others do as well. Hair and political beliefs have NOTHING AT ALL to do with each other. Can those of us with differing political views just agree to disagree? Your post accomplishes nothing other than to let us know that most people don't like long hair on men --what a newsflash!
Who the hell reads any of those [womens'] Hollywood rags anyway? Geez.
wow. that's more than i thought. i thought maybe it was five to ten percent who liked long hair(called it a "do"), which would still be good, because out of only ten to nineteen that do not like it, one does. but a third, that's interesting . . . :)
You all should see how it is in oklahoma long hairs all over the place
i live in the very north east corner of the state.even after a huge decrease in long hair from generation style changes.there are still lots of long haired people here including me:)ive been all over the state and it is the same everywhere.of course this is indian land and lots of bikers too. lots of long haired people here are indians or bikers but there are alot of non indian non bikers like me who wear there hair just as proud:)just do what i do.say to h*LL with everyone who objects to your appearence its my life and I like me just the way I am.and as long as im getting mine well? i also say what if Jesus comes back like that?I never go by styles or trends in fact i have always hated them. who cares how the rich dumbasses on tv and magazine's look they are being payed to set trends..
