So what is your personal goal for long hair length? Down to your knees, waist, shoulders?
My personal goal for hair length, as of now, is just long enough to get into a decent tail when I want to, and still long enough to look really cool when jamming on my drum kit. I have nearly four inches of hair (bangs are a bit longer than back hair), so I'm guessing I have about a year and 8 months minimum. I have wavy/curly hair. Is that time length for my goal about right (my hair would be about 14 inches by then?
So I'm wondering: What is your personal goal for hair length?
Knees! Got a long way to go, however.....
Mid-back to lower back
12 years ago I would've said my shoulders. It's waist-length now... I dunno anymore... I just sort of keep letting it grow...
hehehe
That's my goal bud! Yours looks awesome!
This is my first time growing long hair. My goal for now is just past the shoulder blades. But who knows, maybe i'll wanna keep going from there?
When I started this journey (2 years ago), the thought of growing my hair this "long" would have been more than I could have hoped for. Now that I'm here I just want to continue growing it longer and longer.
That's what I'm shooting for!
I will be elated when I finally obtain that length. Looks fabulous! But my goal is to the waist if possible.

yes...Yes...YES!
The 4 inches you already have + 20 months more = 14 inches!
But in the meantime you can 'enjoy the journey'!
Good Luck
Would love to get my hair to waist length.
waist length or longer, but probably just a dream, definately terminal lenth whatever that is (almost 3 years and about 4" past my shoulders now).
I'm going for shoulder length or a bit longer... I'll see when I get there. Equal length all around. I'd say 14 inches is more than enough hair for what you're aiming for... another year a half and I bet you'll be there. Good luck!
My hair is going to get as long as possible,
so I guess I don't really have a firm goal
in mind.
I think I'll at least be pretty content once
I've solidly acheived waist length growth.
A very few hairs get caught now and then when
putting my pants on if I'm holding my head
a certain way, but I won't feel like
It's waist length until about half my hairs
are hanging past my belt.
I hope it gets that long...

Whatever it grows to. My ideal is to have the ends be at mid back when they are not being pulled down on, and they are there now. However, my hair clumps into spirals which separate from each other just below my shoulders, and individual spirals look funky if chopped off; they need to grow to a tip. So I will allow them to grow longer if they wish.
If I pull down on my hair, the longest strands come within three inches of my waist, but they immediately spring back up to the area of my nips the minute I let go of them. Those longest strands are also not very numerous down there, so I'm also likely nearing my terminal length. So it looks like I am getting the hair I want. :-)
Hi Mr Bill,
I really like your hair color.
Nice curls.
Also I `ve tried to wash my hair from time to time woth only water. It`s ok.
good-lokking, shiny curly hair...
I'd say you already reached your Goal!
Waist length. That's what looks best with a tartan kilt, IMO... Currently have it at my shoulder blades.

MAXIMUM LENGTH!
When I previously had all one-length, my hair was at my shoulders. This time around I'd like to go for shoulder blades or mid-back. Seems like it's taking forever, though!!
Hey FITMUS, this is sort of unrelated to the string, but I was wondering if you've noticed any differences from the first time growing your hair out to now? Is it seemingly taking longer, is it healthier looking, thicker, that sort of thing. Also, what was your initial inspiration, your new inspiration, and what was your reason for chopping it all off? Just curious...-_-
...my response took so long. I wasn't near a computer for a bit there! Anyway, I'd be glad to answer your questions.
1.) "I was wondering if you've noticed any differences from the first time growing your hair out to now? Is it seemingly taking longer, is it healthier looking, thicker, that sort of thing"
----As far as any differences, it seems like the question I keep asking myself is, "Did it take this long to grow it out last time?" I know that last time I was able to get my hair into a ponytail after a little over a year (with some hair falling out), but then I was able to get all of it in a tail after 1.5 yrs. Also, the biggest difference in my approach this time is that I'm just lettin' it grow, as where last time I cut it to one length and let it grow from there. I can't really tell too much yet as far as any more differences since it hasn't been too long yet (4 months), but so far, it seems like it's taking longer. But that could just be my impatience! :)
2.) "Also, what was your initial inspiration, your new inspiration, and what was your reason for chopping it all off? Just curious...-_-"
---Good question. Actually, I had to think a little about this question! I'm trying to think...the first time I grew out to all one length was probably because of the musician in me. At the time, I was playing out as a singer/guitarist, managing a group and wanted to see about getting an album together. I do have to say, though, that even before that time (which was around 1996), I always wanted long hair. In fact, I can remember at 5-7 years old asking my mother if I can grow my hair longer! (she said "no"). In high school around 1989, I grew my hair out, but in layers. I was one of the only ones to have long hair. So I think the long hair-thing has always been in me. This time, it's because I feel it's "me". In that aspect, it feels different growing it out this time (which goes to your first question, I suppose!) because the first time it might have been more of a fashion statement. I feel so much better this time around. Lastly, I think long hair seems to fit me because of my music, martial arts, and sometimes I meditate (peace & harmony stuff). Long hair just seems to fit those aspects of my life.
Thanks for asking! :)
Cool, I've always wondered these things about other longhairs, and you seemed to have gone through all the possibilities, grew it- cut it- grew it again, so you seemd the perfect person to ask. Well, thanks for answering, it's great that you now feel so comfortable with your longer hair, i bet it makes your whole attitude towards life that much brighter, i know it does mine ^_^
It sure does. And thanks for asking the questions. :)
...I forgot to answer you why I cut it off the first time:
A few reasons--it was hard to take care of, I was getting married and settling down a bit, I was backing down from the music-thing as far as wanting to make it big, and I stopped serious martial arts training. However, I think all these things can be combined to say that I lost my desire to make the fashion statement, since at that time, that seems to be why I grew it out.
Feels much better to be growing it out for my identity this time. :)
What happens often is the longer it gets, the longer you will want it to grow. Or till terminal length which is what happened to me.
CHUCK CAN YOU TELL ME HOW LONG YOUR HAIR IS BECAUSE I TOO AM AT TERMINAL LENTH MINE IS ABOUT TO THE BOTTOM OF MY RIB CAGE IN THE FROUNT I WANTED WAISTE LUNGTH BUT IS DONT LOOK LIKE I AM GOING TO MAKE IT
Yours worked out longer than mine. My terminal
length appears to be around shoulder blade
length. Probably a couple inches above nipples.
Kind of bummed about that.
I started out just going for what we up north call "hockey hair", just about 6 inches front and back. Then I saw a pic of Tom Cruise with his hair down while filming Magnolia, my goal then changed to 10 inches even all around. Now Im going for the Eddie Vedder look of the early 90s, so about 14 inches. Ive already surpassed my initial goal of 6 inches by an inch and am looking forward to 7 more.
maybe my calves . . . but i doubt i'll make it. anyway, i had some horrible knotting today(i got them out) that made me wonder if i could mantain it at that length, since it's only about 20" now.
A goal I achieved about 6 years ago.

Waist at least. As far as it wants to go. My inspiration was Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, and his...well, it's hard to tell with his trenchcoat but I'd say *his* is long enough that you'd be able to see it between his legs if it wasn't for the coat and he didn't have is Amazing Perfectly Timed Breeze (TM) that is the right of all good longhaired anime villains :P
But waist length definitely. In a way this is a religious thing because I imagine the Horned God has having very long hair :P And also because I imagine it would look amazing with the robe I am planning. (dark brown hair + dark green robe = great look for a High Priest)
My answer shall be an old classic, that many of you should know, the answer to when I will stop growing my hair,
"When I can sit on it!"
