Hi, Im 15 and am trying to straighten my hair, it's wavy/curlish in the front and Straight in the back, any tips on SHAMPOO products that I could use? Please include how often you have to use it and how long it lasts. And if there are any long-term effects....... If there are no shampoo products or whatever, please send me some advice on what else I could do.....
Thanks in advance,
Mike

If your hair is shorter or thinner in the front, and fine in texture, you might do what I did. My hair was wavy when short and very curly when layered, but became pretty straight after I let it grow to one long length (shoulders or longer) and used lots of panthanol-containing conditioner. If your hair tends to be dryish and curly you can try washing less often. Two or three times a week works for me. I use Panatene ProV shampoo followed by a moisturizing conditoner. Out of the shower, I spray, finger and comb in Infusium 23 leave-in conditioner. I often use a moisturizing mousse after that. Years of this treatment has my hair straight and very lusterous.
Mike, I used to try to straighten my hair, and discovered that I usually damaged it, so I gave up and let it grow and learned to tame the curls.
If you must, I suggest you go to a salon that serves Blacks, and have it done and discuss the technique. If it works with the pors then mayeb you can learn to do it yourself.
I envy my lover who has wonderful straight hair, but I enjoy his and let mine be curly.
