    I think they usually try to compete. (I know my S.O. does! )
    She's shorter than I am by about 11 inches, so her hair grows faster in proportion, but mine's still longer when measured.

        She's shorter than I am by about 11 inches, so her hair grows faster in proportion, but mine's still longer when measured.: How long is yers and hers?The longest piece that's fallen out that I measured was 25 1/2" from my own head.Ok, I just measured with a tape measure from the hairline at the base of my skull, and the length is about 17", and I stand just under 6'3". She's 5'4" and has hair that's only a couple of inches shorter than mine (I guess probably 13-14" measured the same way). My hair is still 6 inches from my waistband, but hers touches her jeans. (Of course, she also wears her jeans higher because she's a girl.) She's not here right now (I live in CT, she lives in Boston) so I can't measure hers. All right, I give in -- I have to go and buy a digital camera so I can post some pictures here. I'll keep you posted (so to speak).

    You possed an interesting question. I'm just letting my hair grow long again. I decided to do so after my girlfriend suggested it. I plan to let it get a couple of inches past the shoulders. She wears her hair in a layered style just above the shoulders. As my hair was just a little bit longer than hers (and in need of a trim) I decided to go to a professional stylist. I described the style that she wears and had mine cut the same way.

    When I ran into her and one of her girlfriends the other night it was interesting to see her reaction. She didn't say anything but she was checking me out from every angle possible. It was probably the best idea I've ever had.
