Has anyone noticed that Pagans and Wiccans tend to have longer hair than other people? Any ideas why, besides the freqient SCA connections and general little-bit-of-rebellion-against-society bit?
I haven't personally seen any besides myself, but the local Wiccan scene that I know of is my coven and I'm the only male member (and a longhair at that).
Because Pagans and Wiccans are in touch with nature, and realize that long hair is natural and to cut it is unnatural... and just not cool =) I'm not sure what SCA means, though.
"The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating pre-17th-century European history."
D'oh! *smacks head* I forgot ENTIRELY about the more natural thing!
Thanks fer the explaination Nyghtfall! I almost always describe it as Civil War recreationists who actually get to play with their toys and clunk others on the head with bits of rattan wrapped in duct tape :P My father is rather...well-known in the Society and good at fighting, and you'd think that I'd have taken his place by now, but nope...
