What was the bare minium of months that it took you to grow it for a ponytail? Like a 3-5 inch ponytail?
15-16 months from a buzz to a 3-4 inch tail
though a smaller tail can be made in less time than that.
It depends how short your hair is to start with. It took me about 5 months, but my hair wasn't ever very shortshorter than about 1.5 to 2 inches
I haven't cut my hair in 4 months..maybe a little more. It was kind of short..like 2inches...not its starting to get in my eyes
My hair is very curly, so the appearance of length took some time anyway.
From a starting point of around 1 to 1.5 inches, it took me about 2 years to get the point where I could get most of my hair into a tie to produce what I considered to be a decent ponytail.
Had my hair have been naturally straight, then I guess this time would have been much less.
Incidentally, I never had much luck with the usual small elastics that most guys use to tie their hair....I found them increadably uncomfortable to wear in my curly mop, and they did not look that good either, so about 12 months ago, I decided to go the whole hog and switch to a full-size scrunchie....Best thing I ever did!.
I've been growing my hair for a year from a short-ish back and sides. Now it will go into a 4 inch tail (I've got relatively straight hair)
But I don't tie it back very often, I'll wait till it's grown a bit more.
Cheers, Barry
I have thick, straight hair. I grew my hair from a tight flat-top to what is now about half way down my back. For the first 6 months, I had to wear a hat to cover the "egg" growing on the crown of my head. All my female friends recommended a haircut every 2 months because it makes it grow faster but this makes no sense to me and I ignored the advice. I put off getting a hair cut to a 2 inch pony tail until after 12 months. After that, things happened much quicker. I suggest a lot of heavy gel if you have to look professional during that ugly stage.
