I have a brush made of plastic. Using it makes my hair full of static electricity. I have heard that there is better material for a brush, such as wood or boar's hair. Does anyone know wich of these that will produce the least static electricity or are they equally good?
my guess would be boars bristle. you'll probably not be able to completely yourself of static though.
Boars bristle have less static, also do not get thru tangles very well. My likes it for his shorter hair. My daughter and I can not get the tangles out with the boar bristle brush. To get rid of the static, get some Static Guard from a store like Wal mart. Sray it on your brush before you use it. No static! Only spray lightly on your brush. It comes in a blue aerosol can with a orange lid and is in the laundry section. It also works great on staticy clothes.

ACtually, I find them far better for tangles than anything else, short of fingers. Another good thing about boar bristles is that they absorb and distribute scalp oils throughout your hair, unlike plasic brushes.
