Decided to wear my hair in a tail this weekend. Actually got a compliment yesterday from the manager of the place where I usually eat breakfast every weekend. (He told me that he used to have long hair, but his wife made him cut it so he'd look more 'mature'). One of the waitresses told me she liked it in a tail this morning.
The big test will be the holidays when I visit my relatives. They've kind of gottn used to the longer hair, but they haven't seen the tail yet. No matter what they say, it won't make a difference.
And for you guys in the corporate world (in which I reside 8+ hours a day)... gave a technical presentation to the VP of Ford (my employer) Friday. Went very well - was complimented by my mangagement on the technical aspects. No comment about the hair length...
Congrats on the pony tail, good luck w/the relatives this year, and thanks for posting about your work. Always nice to hear "employer" and "long hair" in the same sentence.
I remember the first time I wore a tail out of the house. I was so nervous! I didn't know what to expect. Turns out, it was no big deal. Then I remember the first time I got up the guts to wear a tail to work! Again, I was so nervous. And again, it turned out to be no big deal. Just wear it the way you like. If you are confident about it, then others won't bother you about it.
I find this interesting -- I have had long hair since 1996 -- going on 7 years and I feel nervous going out of the house WITHOUT a ponytail. I too, remember the first time I wore a ponytail and was nervous then too. Just an observation.
