I just read that males inherit genes associated with male pattern baldness from their mothers (females inherit from their fathers). My dad is VERY bald, but my grandfather is 60 and still has plenty of hair, albeit a little thinning on the crown. That means I am not likely to go bald. Feels good. Hope this helps soothe any of your concerns.

Don't mean to cast a shadow, but...if all male siblings inherit the baldness gene from the same mother's father then all the brothers of that family should develop the same baldness pattern. And we all know that isn't always true, is it?
Not so sure about that... but again, who knows?? I had all my hair till 35 so I did not know in advance I was going to go bald. Where did you read this?
Here's a good site I found on the topic of male baldness.
