Last night, Lisahair's website was still up as usual. Today, I checked it to see if it had been updated, and I got one of Geocities' generic gray pages announcing that "ethan-ken has not yet moved in." Who the hell is "ethan-ken?" I know Lisa was going to be inactive for a few weeks, but why would Geocities give her spot to someone else? Unless she voluntarily gave it up for some reason and someone new snatched it up -- all within the last 18 hours or so! Anyone heard anything?
I recall reading something either on this board or on Lisa's site that said she may have to go off-line for as long as twelve weeks w/o notice. I guess it's here. Start counting the days.
I just thought she meant she wasb't going to be around to tend to the site for a few weeks -- wonder why she dropped it from Geocities? It's not like they'll pull your spot if you don't update it for awhile.
So, tell me, "'DoGirl" -- what kind of "do's" do you do?
I finally started growing my hair in'89 and it's now well past my shoulders with a brunette base and heavy "Schwartzkopf Highlights". Lightly layered on the ends and very naturally curly. Since I've grown it out, I've made it to several salons. At one point I went once a week for twelve weeks strainght. That was fun because it was in a high end department store. My goal is to have a big blonde up 'do or something equally big, high, and feminine.
I've been reading from the sidelines since getting on the net at work since the begining of the year. I just got everything on line at home last weekend. Please e-mail me directly if you like. I've enjoyed reading and wish to contribute.

Thanks,

Also I'm probabaly only going to be able to post messages on Sat, and eve.s on Tues, Thurs & Fri .

Well, you should only give out your e-mail address if you want to get e-mail! :) As far as "ettiquette," that depends on the situation. Any specific questions?
Hi
Where is a salon that still uses hairnets to secure the set, i'm from
a rural area and they stopped using nets years ago when the air conditioned dryers came out. I ,like you, am a fan of the net over the rollers.

I just corresponded with Lisa the other day. She definitely didn't sound like she was moving her site. She did say that she would have trouble doing a lot of new things for the next twelve weeks, but she did say she would try and post any new pics she received during that twelve week period.
Lissaaaaa! Are you out here somewhere??

Some time ago I investigated Geocities as a method for folks to submit pictures in a user-friendly way. During the process of my investigation I noticed that there was a statement that a site would be freed up if inactive for more than three weeks. Perhaps that is what happened.
I would think they mean "inactive" as in "not getting any hits" or "nothing present in the ftp file." I have a geocities site (not hair or rollers...sorry) that has been up for months with no updating and it is still there. I really don't think they would have dropped her site so abruptly unless she requested it, so I hope things are going Ok with her.
