Hey all, glad I stumbled across this message board. I have a question about growing my hair out, I have never let it grow longer than a month.. But at just about that stage the sides get really bushy and fluff out. I was wondering if it was possible for me to grow my hair out to a little shorter than shoulder length? If so, how long will it take? And what technique(s) should I use to make it look good?
Thanks in advance.
A little shorter than shoulder length is a cool looking length in my opinion. I don't know exactly how long that would take to be at that length on you, but I'm guessing about 8 to 10 inches would be what you're shooting for. Usually, hair grows at about 1/2 inch per month. But to figure how long 8 to 10 inches would be, I'd have to know how long is your hair at this point. Just measure the front bangs with a ruler to get an estimate, then you could do the math.
Hope that helps!
Thanks for the info! I will go measure my bangs after I find myself a ruler.. heh. I would say it would take me about a year or so to get that length (my bangs are probably an inch and a half or so), does that sound about right?
Again, thanks, and if anyone else has any tips, etc, please reply!

That's how I would like to grow mine also. So tips could be a great help!
I am gonna post another followup on this:
The hair on the back of my head seems to grow 2x faster than the hair on the sides, can I get maintenance cuts so I don't grow a mullet? Of course, there is nothing wrong with that hair style.. but I just don't fancy it.
