My hair reaches my waist now. It is very silky and shining. I have been struggling in last 5 years to keep it long. However, it has been very stressful experience, since the society is very bias to men with long hair. One of my major problems is to visit public men's bathrooms. Each time, when a man sees me in men bathroom, either he is so confused thinking I am a "girl" or looks at me very with very unfriendly attitude. To void those troubles, I have to put my long hair under my shirt before I enter any public bathroom. However, it is very inconvenient and unconformable. Do you have any better ideas to deal with this issue? Thanks.

That's their problem, not yours. They can take 2 seconds to assess the situation. I never have a problem with my hair causing confusion, and if it does I don't know about it.
I think that anyone doing a double-take will instantly realize that men have been sporting long hair for quite a while now and of course they need to use the restrooms too.
If they don't like, then they can lump it. You should feel proud to sport the waist length hair with NO worries. Enjoy your long hair; you don't need to tuck it in to please others.
I walked into a public toilet once and a couple of manual workers about 20 feet beind me who seemed pretty close to retirement were also going in. I went into a cubicle and overheard this dialogue:
"This is a fella's toilet, innit?"
"Umm, yeah."
"I swear Ijust saw a lady walk in here..."
"Nah, mate. Fella's toilet."
And all the while I was in the cubicle struggling to stop myself burst out laughing.
It's a shame that you have to put up with people like that, as long as they don't try to physically assault you I'd let them stare all they like.
That's the only scary part...
to be ganged up on...
just because of the length of hair...
that's my only fear.
I was at a Journey & Foreigner comncert in 1999. After Foreigner finished and before Journey came on, I decided to hit the bathroom and drain the main vein.
Once getting in, one or two redneck hillbillies decided that they just had to inform me that it was the MEN'S room, and no women should be in there. It was in obvious reference to my hair. I ignored them. I ignored them repeatedly until one of them decided he'd get a little physical since he obviously didn't like being ignored.
The fight went something like this....he pushed me...I hit him...he hit the floor. I asked his buddy if he wanted to go next. He said he didn't. Some guys were yelling that what I did was "uncool". Whatever. I didn't do anything until I was pushed.
Unfortunately, we can encounter people that that anywhere. The best thing is to be yourself and avoid conflict. If you can't avoid conflict, take care of business and leave right away.
So, I assume that the rednecks would't want the longhair guys from Foreigner and Journey to use the men's restroom either?
How about a picture? I don't see that many other guys who have waist length hair.

A photo to share showing your waist length hair would really be appreciated. It would give us all something to aim for. Thanks and happy new year
It seems to me that a majority of "issues" that are discussed on this board , are "what other people think"
When does it become evident that other people will always have opinions on how you look with long hair. More importantly when do you find it within yourself to say, "I don't care what you think " ?
I like my hair this way, I like how I live and most importantly, I like me !
ignore them.
