What is it exactly that you recommend about long hair?

the purpose of this board is a forum for longhairs to discuss issues dealing with hair. we encourage those who contemplate growing their hair out. we provide support for those dealing with issues related to peoples ignorance about men with long hair. it's a means for our minority to feel a little less isolated. are you a male considering longer hair for yourself?
Yes I am, and I don't know why I feel the urge to, I was wondering if by "recommending" it, you might come up with some qualities that I am looking for that I don't know about
i'm not sure the purpose of this board is to 'recommend' that men grow their hair. i certainly don't think every guy should grow his hair out.
qualities about long hair? depends on whether or not you like it long... not me. i get both compliments & snide remarks- i appreciate the compliments and couldn't care less about the rest. the fact that i like it on me is all that matters in the long run.
if you need outside input to help you come to your decision, it may want to think hard about the crap some people will put you through; that you may not get a job because of it... are these things you can deal with? i've found that i get more attention from women- which is a fringe benefit, but i also get some less welcome attention from men.

This question sort of feels like the old adage, if you have to ask the price you can't afford the item. If you have to ask why someone would want to grow their hair long, then like John said, you're not quite grasping the premise and you may not be really prepared or willing to deal with the flak that will come your way because of having long hair. Longhairs have long hair because without it they feel naked, less than whole, unfulfilled and with it they feel like themselves, like the outside finally mirrors the inside. Why are you curious about long hair, Curious?
