I'm growing my hair just below chin length, but i don't know what to do with it until it's the length i want it...
Ah yes, that wonderful "in between" stage. How long is it and how is it cut now? Are you going for all one length just below your chin, or something with layers? Are you planning to be able to tie it back eventually?
Different styling products can help you do different things with it during the "in between" time, depending on just what exactly your "in between" is.
wear a hat
hi....I went from halfway down my back one length.....to short on top, sides,to keep my long term employer happy.....BUT about 1 yr ago I decided to grow it back out,and faced your problem.I cut the back to prob 5 inches or so below my shoulders, but once the sides got past my ears it looked kinda silly....un balanced.....so I wore a baseball cap out in public and pulled my hair through the hole, rather than wear it in a ponytail under the cap.I wore a slimline type sporty cap,not the big ol trucker type hahaha....anyway,after a year I guess,my sides are down to just past my shoulders,my fringe which was eyebrow level is now past my chin,I no longer wear the cap....and IMMMMMMMMMMMMM happy.
And I still work for the same company....until later this year when Im off to the good ol USA.....I live in New Zealand at present. You only need to go to a Metallica concert here in NZ and youd see 20,000 or so long haired guys out of the 40,ooo plus audience.....Coooooooooool.
Mine is going the direction of yours, or, at least, we share the same goal, man. I part mine in the middle. I use a blow dryer and pull it from under all the way around, so it lays nicely over the ears and below the collar. I have a wavy kind of body to my hair so on moist days it does curl up on the ends or, at best, gets wavy. But I just keep at it. Sometimes I spray some hair-spray on my bruch then pull it straight back, through the center where the part is, pulling that particular hair back. It tends to give the front a nice "wave" across either side of the forehead before dropping down the sides. Professionally, sometimes, when I now I have a meeting with the bosses, I spray the hell out of my hair till it looks plastic and painted on. It does appear quite short that way--looks aweful, but everyone thinks I overdid the gel. When those kinds of days are over and I'm home, the first thing I do is rinse out all the spray. Oh, I use a leave-in-conditioner made by Matrix recommended by my stylist. That helps to give the hair controlled body and shine while it grows. I hope these suggestions have been helpful. Let me hear from you, man.
I suggest that you tie the bit you have to a door and then open and close it randomly until it stretches long enough to around you're nipples three times
