I've been growing my hair for 13 months now. It is getting to be a lot nicer than it was a few months ago. I think i'm exiting the awkward stage. Only thing that is bothering me is how frizzy my hair will get. I have provided pictures to demonstrate :) Btw- I wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner every morning. I hate when it's oily, I don't think that the oilyness helps the friziness much either. What is a "Deep-conditioning" treatment people have mentioned on here?
Anyway, here are the pics.
This is just like a shoulder portrait type pic: http://members.lycos.co.uk/oyointhebox/7jan.jpg
This gives you a better idea of the frizz:

I am not going to gamble trying to make the images show in here, just paste the URL's into the browser, thanks :)
I don't see any frizzieness at all. It looks like you just got out of the shower.
I didn't just get out of the shower though :( I hadn't taken a shower for over 12 hours in that picture :(
oops oops. I didn't post the second picture correctly.. here it is:

Even in that pic it just looks like shorter hairs sicking out. A little gel will help control it. I myself just put in some leave in conditioner after washing and that usually does the trick for me,for the most part. Almost everyone has shorter hairs mixed in with the longer ones, because hairs get broken from brushing, washing etc. Plus you have new hairs growing in all the time.
Looks to me like i's just a case of having shorter hairs mixed
in with the longer ones, that's all.
Happens to everybody. Nothing you can do about that.
But if you want to make those little flyaways behave, you are going to need 'something' in you hair to control them...
that is, something to make them stay with the longer hairs...
that is, something like a gel...
Ya, I agree, there is no actual frizz problem with your hair. Remember that longhairs aren't going for the perfection of "helmet head". Some of your hairs will find their own way to move around and broken or new hairs are always growing longer regardless of how long the rest of your mane is. Often hair that has been growing for a really long time can get to look real frizzy because of the wear variation of the vast number of hairs but the way to help keep that to a minimum is to take good care of your hair.
Another product to try (usually for a real frizz problem) is a laminate.
Ah, alright, thanks :)
I have fine, straight hair and what was the biggest help to me was changing shampoos. I had previously been using shampoo for "normal/oily" hair, which was stripping too much oil out. The worst I'd tried was "clarifying" shampoo. Frizz city! Using moisturizing shampoo made me much happier.
The second change that helped was switching from a fine-toothed comb to a smoothing+straightening anti-static brush. Best $5 I've ever spent.
