Are there any mens long hair clubs in the state of Virginia. Sounds like one should be put together.
I think there should be one in any part of the country where we have national or international conventions. Where people can set up workshops for braiding and styles for long hair on men. Women who support their men with long hair and if they have long hair could attend as well. I also think there should be a magazine specifically designed for long hair on men. I would love to model for that. My hair is 30 inches long and in very good shape. At present I don't have any pictures with my hair down. Guess I am getting off on a tangent.
In any event, I support such a movement.

Me, too! And I'd welcome hearing from anyone in Northern California with such an interest. Besides talking about styling, we could provide support for one another when those infrequent but inevitable hassles from the shorthaired come around. But more than that, such a club would provide an opportunity to make longhaired friends. Hey, who doesn't want friends who are attractive, and on that score, longhairs are the greatest! We are so few in mumber that it's often tough to meet many others just because of our scarcity, and having a club could get us around that problem.
A great idea, Chuck, and also your ideas Joseph!
Count me in. As a female with hair to her hips,,, Long hair has always been my passion, and I would like to get some care/style tips, and maybe pass some along. A group would be great here in Northern Cal. There is not enough info out there for us long haird people. I'm just not sure if I can handle the shear extacy of being in the same room with you guys ;)

Anyone interested in forming a committee and actually meet in the flesh to set up such a club or a convention on long hair? It would entail a big effort to cooridinate such an effort. E-mail me or leave a message if you are interested. At least we could discuss it. If not I think its a great idea.

Despite my current short hair for socio/economic reasons, I'm intersted. I'm in the throes of job-hunting, however, and would like to be more secure in that area before I could commit to helping start up a club. I suppose it would be a system of city-based branches.

Not necessarily. You could do it simply by fiat and say: it will be held at this place and this time. Those who REALLY want to attend will make time to be there.
FYI: I'm in the SF Bay area near San Jose.

Wow man!!!!!!!!!! im beginning to feel left out! Guys with long hair are the hottest, but unfortunately, I gotta keep mine cut! Damn, its like being the only one not invited to the party. hahahahaha Are spectators allowed at least?
It's a great idea. Why not have everyone in Virginia who is interested meet at someplace on a Saturday afternoon...for example, Mister P's in D.C. Hope it works out.
I don't knowwhat happened to my earlier message, but I wanted to congratulate you on a great idea. Virginians interested might meet some Saturday afternoon at Mr. P's in D.C. or some similar place. Any suggestions?
Chuck, I'm having trouble getting this posted, so I will try one more time. All I wanted to say was that this is a great idea, and I think you ought to get interested Virginians together on a Saturday afternoon in D. C. --- perhaps in a place like Mr. P's. What do you think?
I'm trying for the 4th time to get this posted. It's such a great idea. Try and get interested Virginians together in D.C. on a Saturday afternoon, say at Mr. P's. Comments?
Hey Bart........sounds like a great idea! BTW, I saw this guy with longhair at a bar in DC this weekend. I went up to him and commented on how great he looked and how unfortunately you dont see many guys in DC with longhair. He responded by telling me that he planned to cut it within the year and walked away. I dont know if it was the fact that i have short hair (due to the job) or just the "DC attitude" kicking in that offended him, but I couldnt help to think......wow man, here is a guy with longhair who looks great.....who has the opportunity to grow it long and keep it long, and he's gonna cut it! I guess it just reinforces the old story about 'the grass is always greener.........." Anyway, keep me posted on the meeting. I hope longhair admirers are invited as well. Bob
the reaction you observed was to your very unconventional male behavior of walking up to a strange man & complimenting his appearance. our culture does not permit men to interact in such a manner. i myself am hesitant to compliment a guy's hair lest he misinterperet it as a come-on. i myself appreciate the occasional comment i get from either gender.
