Are there any good specific vit's that you can take to encourage hair growth. I've heard the E works well, but are there others?
I would be inclined to suggest a proper diet with a good balance of protein, carbohydrates, and fats. Hair, like fingernails, is made up largely of protein blocks, so make sure you get enough protein in your diet.
Vitamin E is definitely good for your hair, as are Omega-3 fatty acids which are found primarily in fish. They're actually good for you all around, too. You'll find that the better shape you're in nutritionally overall, the better looking your hair will be. Y'know those dog foods that purport to give your dog a "shiny, healthy coat"? The same nutrients that work for your dog will work for you, too. (But I wouldn't recommend fighting him for his food--get your own. :-)
Hair/nail growth is sometimes spurred by having an excess of protein in your body. Don't overload, but I think most people could stand a little more protein in their diets anyway.
You may want to check this info out with another source; I'm hardly a qualified nutritionist. Growing your hair is and always will be a waiting game, but maybe this will help.
Good luck!
Matt
Let me get this straight Matt, are you actually suggesting eating dog food? Not saying it's all that strange,I've just never heard of anyone doing it before! Have you tried it? Do tell
Amber
From what I've seen, it causes thick hair to grow all over your body!
...not to mention develop a tail that wags, an increased tendency to drool & stick your head out the window of moving cars, and an fixation with chasing sticks!!
Also are antioxidents important
