Whilst Lisa's page is absent - does anyone know the actual address of the
'Lots of real girls in rollers and pins' link which was offered on her page ???
Thanks.

Thank you Jess - I owe you one
Hi Alan;
We may never get to see dryer pics, like Emeric stated below, we may
have discovered a gap in the historical record. Please help keep this
thread alive so maybe someone will come up with some ideas.

I failed to mention earler that several old movies have some pretty
good scenes, Summertime(1955) has Katherine Hepburn receiving a manicure under an older style dryer, complete with net, ear pads etc.
The Women (1939)has Rosalin Russle under a dryer also.. Three on a Match(1932) also has a beauty shop scene but i dont recall the particulars. If you know of any others , please let me hear from you.

hi alan
Hi George,
Thanks for that information - I'll certainly keep an eye out !
Actually, yes - I have collated a list of movie titles which contain roller scenes and / or under the dryer scenes.
I'd be happy to email it to you - or even start a thread here. Most of the titles have been noted from personal viewing - or trolls of the movie newsgroups.
I suppose posting here would give everyone a chance to contribute, so we could compile a useful reference.
I don't mind acting as an administrator if anyone else reading this would like to contribute anonymously by email to:-
100715.2613@compuserve.com
I'll keep an updated listed posted here regularly if that's the concencous - or a pre-specified Newsgroup if the WEBMASTER has objections...
Would anyone like to comment ? - I'll start a new thread with the list if there's enough interest...
Alan.
Alan:
I hope i did'nt insult you with my trivial attempt, I was glad to find
someone else with a similiar interest. I assume Emeric , Max and the
rest would welcome your efforts as much as I.

I spent a considerable amount of time watching my mother under the
dryer either in her dressing room or at a beauty parlor and the
movie scenes seem to be the only practical way i can relive those
moments. They obviously made a strong impression, otherwise it would
not have such a strong influence in my life. I would be forever grateful for any discussion or assistance you may be able to offer and i am sure others share my feelings.
Sincerely
Jess
Hi George:
Like you , I remember having to go with my mother to the hairdressers
and watching her transformed through all of the processes involved. I
was particularly fascinated by the images of women under the dryers
engaged in all sorts of activities from manicures, pedicures and facials to telephone conversations and having a meal!
Alan has done a great job starting a catalogue of movies that may help
some of us refresh those memories from so long ago
