Can I do something to make it less thick? I'm trying to grow it longer but it looks girly cause it's so thick and it's very hard to manage. I want it to look less dense, like the effect of an undercut but I refuse to get an undercut. Is there any process, shampoo, cut, anything to help me?
Theres really no way to change the texture of your hair as that is genetically determined. You can probably make it more manageable and less 'big' by either shampooing less, or using a gel product or both. Also when you shampoo your hair use a very small ammount, barely enough to lather, and try to keep the shampoo just on the scalp and the roots of the hair until you rinse it out. An undercut probably wouldnt be a good idea because as others have said, most hate it and end up cutting all their hair.
Gel added to damp hair. Try l'Oreal Studio FX Melting Gel.
This will flatten your hair a bit (leave it alone, once styled).
The other option would be to have it thinned professionally which I
would recommend you NOT do since later on it may make matters worse!
Good Luck

I have one thick head of hair so I can relate:
(1)Conditioner if you don't already use it.
(2)Towel dry if you are blowdrying and it poofs up your hair.
(3)Gel such as Dep (gel solves everything).
(4)Time. It wil get flatter as it gets longer. Really.
Your hair is thick because it is long. If you go to a barber/stylist
they will "solve" your thickness problem by making your hair short.
That would be a bad thing if your goal is to grow your hair long.

Because hair constantly sheds, it is naturally thick near the scalp and thins out by the time it gets below the waist. Don't cut anything! You'll want to have as many strands as possible make it to 3+ feet long.
