I was just thinking, and realsied that I have never paid for a haircut in my life. When I was young, my mum either paid for me, or cut my hair herself (if she was quidk enough to catch me, that is - it didn't happen very often). Since I was married, my wife has been the only person evry to do anything with my hair, so I have never paid out any of my own money to the barbaric barber's trade.
Anyone else the same out there?
The last time I paid for a haircut, it was 50 cents, back when Guatemalan currency was on par with US currency (the 70s) -- and it wasn't my money. I have no idea what a haircut costs now. I have a feeling, though, that since the price was double the jingle back then, in a 3rd world country, it's a bit more than 2 bits.
Well, when i was having haircuts, they cost me $15 dollars plus a tip.
And I used to go every 7 weeks so it was about $125 dollars per year.
PLUS the hassle.
Same here. I have been to salons a few times when I was around 12 but my mom always paid for it. Before and after that she always cut it, and now at 17 I haven't cut it in almost 15 months so that's that.
No, its $13 everytime I have my undercut done.
I'm pretty much the same way. I'm only 19 though. It's kinda funny that as soon as my mom decided that I needed to take more responsibility, and start scheduling my own haircuts, that my hair never seemed to get shorter. Finally, she'd get so frustrated w/ my it that she'd schedule a haircut for me. (She tricked me into going by saying that it'd just grow into a big afro, 'cause it's curly.) As of now, I only have plans to pay for trims.
