I can now tie most of my wavy hair back except some hair at the front (it's a bit more than the bangs but not much) The tail looks kind of funny though, some of the ends curl in random places and a few just stick out here and there. Is this something that will fix itself with more lenght? It's also rather stiff at this point but I'm guessing lenght will take care of that too.
You guess right. At least with mine the longer it got the less
"poofy" my ponytail got.
What I do to solve that is, after tying it back, I use a hairbrush and curl the whole tail tightly around it a couple of times. It doesnt cause the tail to curl inwards and it brings it all together at least a little more.
Oh man. All this talk about ponytails is making me jealous. *Jude sits and broods over his 5 month mark* 15 to go!!!
ummmm, you can have a tail at 16 months or even a bit earlier
depending on your hair type:
16 months - your 5 = 11 months
not 15
Good Luck

It all depends on how fast your hair grows. I had a tail at 12 months
My hair was almost to my eyebrows when I decided to grow it out, so I had a ponytail before 9 months. It was really horrendus looking. It did the curl thing you're talking about, and the bangs and part of the sides wouldn't stay in, I used hairclips to hold it back. Most days I wear my hair down now, but when I do put it back in a tail, it USUALLY doesn't fan out, when it does, I just put it in a bun, heh. (My bangs are about 3.5 inches below my chin, btw)
Nope, Im afraid length will not fix the random ends problem.
Wait until it gets longer, then trim the hair to an even length all around.
I freely admit my tail looked skanky, the ends were everywhere and curling and it 'poofed' and fanned out like mad, until at 20 months of growth I trimmed my hair to be one length all around. After that trim my hair was a couple of inches below my shoulders all around, and the tail was perfect.
Hi!!
After about 15 months my hair has reached shoulder length, I've got through the so-called awkward stage, and now it ties back nicely into a short tail. But in a sense it's start-all-over-again-time now. I no longer worry about short haired men thinking I look stupid. No, the new worry is people with long pony tails (male or female) looking down their noses at my 'feeble' effort!!!!
Cheers, Barry,
