I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good shampoo or conditioner
for dry hair? My hair mysteriously became dry and brittle about a
month ago. I responded by using Pantene Pro-V only to find that it made my hair drier! Several women have told me that Pantene is notorious for drying out the hair. I've used Clairol Herbal Essences for dry/damaged hair for about a week. I've seen some improvement, but it's still dry. Does it take time for the hair to remoisturize?
Additionally, I've noticed a lot of hairs that have broken off half
way. The remaining half-hairs are often "deformed" -- erratic curls
that refuse to lie down. It's not from split ends because I just
had a trim last month. I'm guessing these weird hairs are from
before I learned proper hair care. What can I do with these broken
hairs? Should I have them cut? Get a hot oil treatment?
shampoo less often
Try using Thermasilk, from Helene Curtis for dry/damaged hair; I have found it works wonders! & use their conditioner also!
I know I'm not a man, but I'll respond anyway. I have hair that has a tendency to be very dry and frizzy. I have been using Infusion 23 products. I shampoo with the shampoo which has the moisturizers in it and then I use the Infusion 23 "Leave-In Treatment" only. I don't mix it with any type of gel or mousse because it fizzes my hair. I also do not blow dry my hair. I give it a good combing once I put the leave in treatment on and that's it. This leaves my hair very shiny and a mass of springy-type curls. Also, I do not comb my hair, I just run my fingers through it the next day. I wash my hair every other day. I cut my hair off to my neckline before I had my daughter and since I have been doing this my hair is close to my waist now. A good trim my help all those weird hairs.
Next time when you're buying conditioner, get something that is really CREAMY and THICK!...i dunno why Pantene dried your hair out. it works fine with me but sometimes when I put too much, by the end of the day I look like a drowned sewer rat. Maybe it's the weather.
I agree with john; shampoo less often. I got highlights and
they turned my hair to straw. For a couple of months I only
washed my hair twice a week, using conditioner, and in
between washings I would condition only. Sounds icky, but
my hair didn't get greasy at all. Now it's in pretty good
shape, and I don't even have to use special colour-treated
hair conditioners all the time. Occasionally I do use them,
but I think I'll try the hot oil thing instead. Did you try
it A.V.?
try Goldwell Products "Kerasilk" conditioner. It is the only product I have ever tried that actually did what it promised! I guarantee you will see a drastic difference immediately. Be sure to follow the directions EXACTLY. I also recommend (and use) their shampoo. These products are a bit expensive but well worth every penny (even more!) Good Luck!

This past year my hair is getting worse and worse. It's getting really dry and split ended. Is there a shampoo I can use or anything. I herd thet mayonase helps alot, but is that true? Well if someone could help that would be nice
