I am 40 years old and my hair was always short. Since a few months I am reading your longhair board. It gave me a lot of support in growing out my hair for the first time in my life. I have never had long hair and the fact that I am very fashionable and I observe that a lot of models today have long hair or are starting to grow out their hair, I decided to grow my hair. My aim is shoulder length and my last haircut was in the beginning of October. Now my hair is seriously over my ears and one of my colleges told me Pieter, your hair is becoming long and also my parents found that my hair is long. At the moment, I didn't told them that I want long hair. So I need your advise in my growth process, should I tell to my friends that I am growing out my hair and how long will it take to have shoulder length. I thank you all for your information.
I assume you mean that you bangs will reach your shoulders? Because
the back of your hair will get there month's ahead of THAT.
As to whether or not you should tell people of your intentions to GROW LONG...
hmmmmmm...that's a tough one. HOW would these people react?
I grew my hair long withOUT telling anyone. I just let them TALK & SQUIRM
and say things, but I kept my MOUTH SHUT...resisting the urge to "admit" what I was actually doing!
So my hair got longer and longer...and their comments went from: "when are you
getting a haircut" all the way to "My God! You have a LOT of hair"
to...
"I bet you could put your hair into a ponytail" to...
"someday when you get a haircut you will look great!" and even to...
"You won't come to MY funeral with long hair!"
BUT NOW...
Nobody says a word cause I'm A LOST CAUSE...he..he
I can't wait till im a lost cause too man.
