If it wasnt for this board, i would have given up on my hair and stayed to "the norm". Ive wanted to be a longhair for years, but dammit, i felt pretty much alone in the world when i hit the awkward stages, and resorted to the razor. but, through fate or luck, i found ya's, and i cant say how big a help you all have been. every day i read the messages, seldom post myself, but as my hair gets longer i feel more part of the community, and more worthy of posting! so, cheers guys, i still got a long way to go, but couldnt do it without ya.
If it wasn't for this board, I would've probably have cut already.
For us curly/frizzy-hairs it's an especially sobering and thankful experiance to stumble upon this forum. I know that I myself have recieved all kinds of advice...and as soon as I get the cash to put into the products (LoL) I have no question that I'll be thanking you all yet again.
I will say this, without the forum I'd feel a lot more like a 'stranger' in society. Heck, the other day I had a girl comment on how envious of my long hair she was.. her hair was barely at her shoulders... and mine's about an inch past now. Thanks guys!
Yes, for us curly-hairs, the awkard stage is a lot more difficult!
And I think this is true for many...
when you get to that "awkward stage" you really
need support...
THAT's when the big DOUBTS start setting in...
and it's a DANGER ZONE this place helps you get through
it safely.
I can say with absolute certainty that I would have given up and cut my hair if I had not found the Men's Long Hair Hyperboard. I now have the concept of the "awkward stage" and appreciate that trims are generally a bad idea. I appreciate the advice and encouragement I have received here.
My hair has been getting better every day. I am well into the awkward stage but even in the few weeks since I took my seven-month progess pictures the new length has improved my hair. It hangs flatter and it stays tucked behind my ears better. The back is now long enough to hang down and sit on my shirt collar. I still have a lot more hair growth but the steady improvement is nice.
Actually, I already had my hair really long before I found this page but my hair was a wreck. With everybody's help, I now know how to take proper care of it and I think it's great so if it wasn't for this board, I'd still have really lousy hair.
I would have probably cut it aswell, just reading the posts here helps me get through the days :)
Know exactly what you mean - I'm a bit of a lurker (in a non-threatening sense :) ), and have appreciated all the advice and words of wisdom all the participants have been given. It's times like these whenever I'm been told how bad it is etc. that I can come here and know people saying those things are talking society-conditioned rubbish.
Hang in there guy! This place can be a great place of encouragement and support. I am like you... I read posts almost everyday, but seldom post. I have been hanging around here since last summer when I found this site. I have learned alot from these folks.
Peace,
Petros
