Okay, it's inda a crappy shot, but... Not much change in length, but I really just wanted to post my good hair day. They are blessings.
Unfortunately, I spent the whole day home, alone, so could not share it with anyone. Natrually.
Hmmm..... Progress, even....
No, I don't think it's a 'crappy shot'...kind of creative, actually.
Very shiny. What do you use for shampoo, conditioner, etc.?
Finesse for dry and damaged hair. Both shampoo and conditioner. Sometimes alternate with Tresemme for color treated/dry.
Looks great, as LucksKind said, nice curls. My admiration goes out to any curly haired human being who has the patience to grow it long.
Heh. Some days I just wanna rip it out. Then I smile, slap some water on it, and go on. It is a pain, sometimes, but it is mostly a pleasure.
(especially considering that I used to actually pray for curls as a kid....then the Puberty Gods smiled on me)
sharing a picture of a good hair day is never a crappy shot, CJ...rather, it is inspirational--especially when the subject has hair the texture, color and condition of yours! Keep growing--and sharing your progress with us. Thanks!
Well, actually you DID end up sharing it with the very people who would be most responsive and positive of you. Great to see the pic. So, all is NOT lost. Keep it growing! :-)
True, true.
And right now, the whole thing is up in a french twist with a few bobby pins. I don;t care if people want to call it femme or what, because it is both efficient and comfortable.
Then again, if I cared what people thought, I probably wouldn't do half the things I do. Creating my own anachronistic clothing and wearing it, for one. Working on a cloak, right now, as I firmly believe that people do not wear capes and cloaks enough, anymore.
I'm late, but I thought I'd comment.
*grin* That's cool. I love cloaks, and always have. I wish I was skilled enough to make one. I love to see people standing out from
the crowd ^_^
I'd love to see how your hair looks hanging down the back of a cloak
as it gets longer. It's a very victorian look I think, and in my
opinion a very appealing one.
Stormdog
Better late than never, nu?
And yes, I've pretty much lived as a creative anachronist my entire life.
The pop-art-esque Monopoly enseble I had mom make for me in high school, for example. Black pants with monopoly money all over them, a very 70's-type shirt with the pale green of the board and all the pieces all over it, as well as the major properties, and the full board, in fabric, sewn on the back. Dice buttons, too. Woot.
Nevermind the sixties flowerchild look I had with the homemade bell-bottoms and the natural 'fro.
I think I was at 4 or 5 inches, then.
Judging by the lightness of your eyebrows, your hair probably isn't color treated, but I will ask anyway. Is your hair color treated?
Not the first to ask, you are. Whoa...Yoda...
Anywho... No, it is not. I have natural streaks and highlights as well as just an amazing array of shades across a pretty broad spectrum. The hair at the bottom is a very light brown (dark blond), but some of the streaks are quite light. I'm a natural blond, but as I have aged it has gone from platinum to a more honey color, with lots of depth as it grows longer. When I was a kid, it was nearly white, due to lots of sun exposure, and my skin was thus brown. I looked like a white haired Mexican child. Once, I was even asked if I was half-black.
Sadly, though, the only minority I fit into is the GBLT community (I fit in that B category).
...cool hair, man, can't wait to rejoin you in the ranks, my hair used to be around that length in the not too distant past. Keep Growin', bro, and remember, scissors are our enemy! LOL!!
Actually, the bangs are a bit shorter, due to a...slight accident...with a propane heater a few months back. *ahem*
It is just below the tops of my shoulders, now.
Hey man your hair is awesome! I myself just started growing my hair out about last July. It is down past my eyes when I'm in the shower but when it dries it goes right back up into curls about half that length. I'm sorta getting discouraged though. I knew I had curly hair but never grew it out before. I'm finding out that in the front and sides it's much curlier than on top. The top seems to have more of a wave to it rather than curls. I'm hoping it evens out with more growth. I hope it looks similar to yours. Awesome look man. Keep it up!
