okay my thick wavy hair is acting wierd lately. it has curled and i mean really curled and it is just the bangs. any idea of how to keep it straight??!!!?!? it will break the toughest gel and hairspray to return to its curl. i am a wanting to try a relaxer, and my stylist mentioned something that was not as harsh,,but i dont care as long as i can look decent with out my hat,,,it was imbarasing the other day at a funneral when i had to take my hat off. semi-straigh hair all around except for the bangs. i try new gels offten and none yet have worked,,,one day i even mixxed every gel and spray i have together,,and still no luck..any thoughts????
wash your hair, pull your bangs straight (keep tension on them) then use a blow dryer on them. once theyre dry they should stay straight.
get a hair iron. At Walmart they have "mary kate and ashley olsen" hair straightening iron do-hickey for like 10 bux. Just pinch your hair in the heated-tong like things, pull down and voila,your hair is straight as a straight man. Of course, doing this daily would have negligeble effects on your hair, but this is only a short term solution. (couple months to half year...you don't wanna fry your hair after all)
cool:) so off to walmart i go,,haid dryer and a mary kate and ashley iron....lol. well i hope these will work for those times when i cant stuff it under a hat or a bandana. thanks guys,,
oh by the way,,no i dont run my fingers threw my hair,,it is imposiable with the gel for me to attempt that,,lol
might i suggest, youre using too much then! alot of people use gel in their hair, but it shouldnt be so much that it makes your hair stiff or sticky. as was suggested a blow dryer and straightening iron is the "proper" way to get straight hair, gel will help but use it in moderation!
Strange co-incidence: I was at a funeral today, and the wind was not kind to my "slapbangintheawkwardphase" hair!!! I wonder though, you say your hair is straight apart from the bangs... could it be that you have the same habit as me, that is, always combing through your bangs with your fingers, thereby losing any hold that the gel had? Just a thought. Anyway, good luck taming that hair dude!
