Iv'e just started growing out my hair and was wondering is there anyway of telling how my hair will be, straight or curly?
At the moment it's only just about 3 inches long or should that be short! :-) when i have no jell in and it's just been washed and let to dry naturaly it hangs perfectly straight down all over just like one of those hideous basin cuts we used to endure as kids.
Is this any indication of how it will continue to grow or is it likely to take on a life of it's own.??
The next year or so will be your toughest time. It will be difficult to style your hair at times and it will probably take on a life of it's own. I found that using a curly iron in those hard to please areas will help give it some body. But once you get your hair down close to shoulder length, you'll know what your going to be capable of. From what you described though, it sounds like it will more likely be straight.
Good luck. The journey was definitely an adventure for me.
Cheers m8t,I never realised until i came to this forum just how long it takes for hair to grow!!
Visiting this forum and talking to others when i'm struggling will help keep me sane ... i hope :¬)
Yea baby pictures show perfectly straight hair, and it's quite long aswell.!!!
You said it!

I think you'd know by now if you have curly hair or not - if it's three inches long and still straight then I'd say you have straight hair.
Dig up some baby photos, they might help...
