I am sure all of us has had that day when they were just ready to shave their hair off right?
Well has anyone ever done it? I just did and i already regret it big time, I have had my hair mid back for 10 years now and todya on a whim got a crewcut I was just having a bad day, and now its worse I hate it! I am growing it back but damn its going to be a while I really screwed up too! Anyone else done this? How did you handle it? Just curious cause I now will have to go to work tommorrow with the shortest haircut of my life that I hate and deal with comments and such. ANy help is welcomed! Thanks
What were you thinking??? It would take a hell of a lot of green plus some tasty 'tang that is simply out of this world to make me cut my hair let alone shave it off. But take solace in that your grooming habits will not monopolize half of your day anymore. ;)
Keep your head up. It will grow back in about three years.
Well I know that but its a hrd road ahead. I was just in a bad mood I knew better but the thought was on my mind and I jsut did it. Soon as the clippers hit my had I knew I had screwed up but to late! Oh well I deal..
Once you grow your hair back, I suggest you cut off a finger or toe the next time you are in a bad mood.
Perhaps you could deflect some of the attention from your head with perhaps a tattoo on your face. Something like what Mike Tyson did about a week ago. I guarantee everyone will forget you ever had long hair. Just a thought....
I have full sleeves and most of a back piece tattooed on me ANd no I wont get anything on my face! It may be stupid to cut off your hair but not like cutting off an appendage as you suggest. It makes me mad I did it but I will live and grow new hair. I tell you this its damn cold with a buzzcut! I am used to having hair and nno need for a hat or anythign when its cold but now I'll have to get something on my head. It doesnt look bad my wife digs it and no she didnt pressure me into a buzz even thought she likes it. Just anyone considering it take your time dont do anythign rash or you will rtegret it
Yes. On 1 December 2000. Had four year hair and did exactly what you did. Terrible mistake. Had to accept what I had done (no choice really) and make the decision not to cut again. The decision made me feel better. I now have my hair back and I feel like me again. Accepting what you have done is crucial in my opinion.
One positive way to look at it is to think that you are going to have a whole new head of hair that you can really take care of this time and perhaps avoid any bad haircare stuff you did before.
I had to cry a lot to get over it too. It helped. Sad but true.
I think I've learned from the experience in that, if I ever feel like cutting my hair off again, I'm going to make a note of the date and leave it a month before doing anything about it.
Some new tattoos helped me as well (wouldn't recommend facial ones though).
Good luck.
wow.... you just did it without giving it any thought? I have shoulder lenght hair that has been bothering me everyday for about 6 months and I am giving myself a whole month to think it over before I cut it... which I'm pretty sure I'm going to do but better safe than sorry. Anyway what's done is done, it's useless to worry about the past so at least enjoy the fact that your hair will be maintenance free for a while.
maybe you should tie it up into a ponytail and...
forget about it until your 'bad hair day' passes.
Then maybe you can calm down a relax a bit and
rethink any bad decisions
I had a bad hair day today, in school i cant get it looking nice all the time and usually come home looking terrible and then im depressed for a long time after! Ive just calmed down from it now that im looking ok, just one of those things you have to bare
That is why some on this board came up with the two week rule.
Is there a way to search the archives on this list and
find what lead people on this board to create the two week rule?
More than likely the two week rule was created by those
who did what you did and deeply regetted it.
Let this be a lesson to anyone who considers the same thing.
Once you cut it it will take YEARS to grow back. Since it
takes years to grow it, at the minimum you shouild take a couple
weeks to really think about it.
I agree
Me too :)
The word "two" is too short to be indexed, so just enter "week rule" into the archive search tool.
The two week rule did not start on this board. It is older than that. Actually, it is a good enough rule to apply to anything that can have longlasting effects and that is sometimes made based upon emotions.
