Hi folks,
Sorry, another newbie here but with a reason. I havent had a haircut since the end of September, and I can pull my fringe (bangs) down to the tip of my nose. The hair directly above my ears can cover them. I want to let my hair grow out, but my future employers have the following guidelines:
Long hair may be tied back with a hairband in corporate colours, neatly trimmed so the customers can see your eyes. From this I understand that they do not mind long hair (it is almost industry standard for the type of job I have won), but what about in the middle! I currently wash my hair dayly, and towel dry. Then I comb back with a centre parting, hair tucked behind my ears. My hair dries naturally, and holds the position for most of the day.
Can anybody recommend the names or even better pictures, of styles that would allow me to continue growing, yet remain in the guidelines, or is it stick to gel and maintenance cuts.
Failing this I will have to get it cut for the duration of the job (6 months - 5 years!), but I am determined to have long hair one day!
Thanks in advance.
James.
First off, Newbies are always welcome here. Next, I say use super hold gel to get the hair back out of your face. The straight back slick look gives you more the corporate appeal, if you will. I believe as long as your hair is tamed and out of your face, they should have no problem with it untill it gets long enough to put into a ponytail. Good luck, bro!
Gel and lots of it. It will take a lot longer to have long hair if you get maintenance cuts. Unless you really, really need to look "corporate" you would be better off to just let your hair grow without trims. Good luck!
These guidelines sound almost sane till you get to this bit ! Employers just love yanking your chain don't they. Hope you don't work for Orange Telecom.
Good luck !
Thanks for the support, I shall look into the hair gel. I go on a training course soon, so will have a chance to see what the others look like before getting it cut/trimmed. Corporate colours means a lovely light tartan type thing!
Great site, grat people!
James
those regs are for the women! Men should not need this.
I kid thee not! Same rules for the women as the men, only they can have corporate clips too!
you missed my point what I was saying is a man has no buisness with hair long enough to use a hairband.
