I've noticed that my hairline has begun a rapid retreat! What should I do?
Calm down, mellow out and adopt/develop a positive attitude--because what else is there you con do (hide it, stop it, reverse it?)? It is Nature taking its course.
If you're willing to spend the money, go to a hair restoration clinic and explore your options (just look in the phonebook). Otherwise, just live with it.
OH .... HOW SAD!!
Have we stooped this low for vanity?
I don't think it's sad at all. Marc's lost his hair as he's got older, and that's something he had no control over. He looks really good with the hairpiece, so what's the problem?
I want to thank both Nathan and Petros for backing me up. I certainly consider myself a longhair, as my hair (real, not the hairpiece) on the sides now go 2 inches below my ears. We were discussing milestones recently. Mine has been that I must now pull my hair back & attach it with a clip so I can shave properly without the hair falling in my face.
I notice that all regulars in our little community on this board are very serious in promoting long hair, i.e advice on hair care, maintenance, grooming but most of all, we take the time to write words of encouragement to long hair wannabees , no matter at what stage we may be in our progress. The ability to post pics and to exchange information is one of the greatest benefits of this board through the use of this marvelous invention which is the internet. There may be disagreements among us on some issues, but there is no malicious intent, as our views are different on certain subjects.
The Internet has its pros & cons, the latter being the ability to shoot crap & remain anonymous. This Dale guy acted in a very predictable fashion i.e. no e-mail address, short , blunt spurts of insults without saying anything about himself. We dont know if he has short or long hair or whats he doing on this board? Just passing by, throwing a few punches & out the door the next minute. We cant prevent jackasses from coming into the house. The door is always open.
I want to take this opportunity to thank our Webmaster, Victor not only for providing this webspace but for taking the TIME to maintain this site. Time is money and it is priceless. Victors posts are also always well written & to the point. I also appreciate Hair Relgions & Bill Choissers sites for the wealth of information they contain. Two thumbs up!
Marc A is a fairly respected member of this board. (my opinion) He looks good. He is a source of encouragement for those who come here. I don't consider it vain at all. In my opinion, he is a longhair, because he has the heart of a longhair.
Petros
I told my best friend once that I thought my hair line was starting to recede. He said, "Recede? It's not receding, it's RETREATING. You're just so ugly, your hair is trying to get away from your face!" Nice friend, huh? LOL!
Start taking Propecia. It works. Not only will it stop any further hair loss. But, in about 60% of the people who take it, it regrows the hair that was already lost. That has been my experience. In my opinion, it's a miracle drug. It's kind of expensive, but it's WORTH EVERY PENNY!
I have included the link below.
Being that like a lot of people here, i care about my hair greatly, i've done a bit of research on this. I would go with rogain over propecia because Propecia is a drug in pill form whereas rogain is a topical cream, which translates to a much lower occurance of side affects. But you could try both, for some propecia has no side affects and rogain does, but for the majority it seems rogain has less. Good luck.
My girlfriend is bothering me about it
