i don't know if it's just me but there seems to be a LOT of longhairs cutting their hair off recently
in the last month or so i've seen 3 longhaired friends cut it and go with the buzzcut/clean shaven look, including one guy who i used to be in a band with who was possibly the biggest greatfull dead fan i've ever seen
who i NEVER pictured cutting it
i don't know what it is but it seems a LOT of people have been doing that recently, anyone notice this?
Actually, in my neck of the woods (New York). I've noticed a dramatic increase in the number of awkward stagers and true longhairs over the past year and a half or so. Seems that the buzzcut is on the way out here.
Over here in Long Island short hair still rules. But I am seeing many awkward stages and a few with long hair. Only like 2 however acually have good looking long hair. Hopefully i will be the best out of all of them. People are already telling me my hair is nice since i been taking care of it and putting good products on it. Pantene has been good to me regardless of some of the negative feedback some people give it.
Hi!
As I've reported before, there look to be fewer buzzcuts around here in SW England, and certainly fewer fully shaved heads. The spiky look is the rage, and it seems to be growing longer by the month. Obviously a trend to long hair cannot exceed the actual growth rate of hair, and probably lags behind it. Whatever David Beckham chooses to do with his hair now is likely to have an influence on trends!!
Cheers, Barry
Oh no - does that mean I should buy shares in Alice Bands?

Luckily, things seems to be going towards an "awkward stage" look in my area of the West Coast. BUT..........the "buzzards" still abound in number. (And almost NEVER complete without wearing their hats on backwards.) I am only guessing, but the "Buzzies" are still in the 90% range.
...and i swore i'd NEVER be one of them...hmmm, look what its got me...almost 6" hair...GONE. i dont know if i want to immediately start regrowing...i needa take a break from this...i've been in the akward stage, so to speak, since i was 14...im now approaching 18. always got trims or spur of the moment cuts...i was thinkn of getting a wig before anyone noticed....but nah, i am getting "normal" attention, so im just going to take it easy for awhile and try to recapture my "long-haired soul"
Yep I've seen several "real" longhairs (with REAL long hair, not awkward stage hair) cut their hair short, and as some of you know I myself will be doing so in 2-3 weeks. As far as people in the awkward stage, there are tons of them and I don't consider them "longhairs", you see most of these guys are NOT trying to grow their hair really long, the shaggy look is just REALLY popular right now... believe me a year from now most of these guys' hair will still be the same lenght.
Hi!
Perhaps long hair for some men(and women)is a 'revolving door' phenomenon - have it long for a while, then cut it, perhaps grow it again in a year or two. I'll be 50 in a few years, and I don't see myself keeping my long hair very far into my 50's, but then you never know!
Cheers, Barry
That is what some of us are bring up now and then, the patience to stick keep with it and especially the INTREST in hair achieve LONG term growth...and then stick with it because you realize that it's what you really like for yourself.
So many people who show a budding intrest in hair just haven't really gotten it straight in their minds yet as to what they are trying to achieve.
I think that variety is a good thing...just not in all things and for me hair is not one of those things. Many if not most people need to change things like their hair every now for whatever reason. To me my hair getting longer qualifies as that change. It's all how you learn to view it as you get more familiar with what you've taken an intrest in.
After awhile you might start seeing that certain lengths of hair go hand in hand with certain attitudes about hair. Shorter styles are more easily done away with while longer and longer hair shows more serious commitment and determination. As with most things, there is no substitute for time and experience.
You will continue to see the things that you mentioned. At least it's better than the 50's.
