Needing some styling/growing advice.
My hair is layers, kinda short on top, but real long in back, and I have been growing it that way for a year. In back, it looks great, especially if I mouse it, as it is thick and wavey. Now, down to my shoulder blades.
Problem is, it is thinning in the front, the reason why I keep it short. Would love to let the front grow out, as I love the pulled back in ponytail look, but think it will end up looking bad as it is thinning there.
What do you think???

Basically it depends. I have a friend who is balding but his pony tail looked really great. But I have seen some people that were balding and it just didnt look so great. It all comes down to whether you like it or not. And the only way you'll find out is if you grow it.
I'd let the top grow out more. From your description, it sould like you might have two different hair cuts. The back, which is longer and probably looks cool, and the top, which is shorter. . .kinda Billy Ray Cirus. I'd let the top grow out. Even if it doesn;t reach the length the back is, it could be grow out to where there are long layers that blend withthe back. Even if it is thinning, longer layers on top would stil be an option.
Mock,
Hi,
Well, you are better off than me with awkward all over. My new philosophy is - grow it out - you will never know what it looks like until you do. It might be great!! I don't know about you, but my crystal ball never worked!! Good luck - you seem to have had the good luck with the back of your hair!
