Did anyone catch the Conan O'Brien Show Wednesday night? I cant remember the man's name, but the performer at the end was this middle aged guitarist. He lad long, straight hair down to his butt. The top of his head was balding, but what he had left in the front he put in a 50's curly-cue. I thought he looked pretty cool!

ah. I did a little research. His name is Link Wray and he is a well known 50's guitarist who still plays of course. Unfortunately I couldnt find a pic showing his long hair, but these give a good idea.
his name is link wray. the man that invented the power chord, back in 1958. huge influence on the brit groups of the '60's. his big hits were, "rumble", and "rawhide"(not the theme song from the tv show).
I saw the show. It was chest-length, if not lower back, but definatley not as long as you recall. As far as his "legend" status... er... ahem... uh... THAT particular piece sucked. I've never heard his other work, but if it's anything like that... oivey...
