I went to the post office today. . .and also went to the supermarket.
One older man L(.)(.)KED at me like I was the ENEMY or something.
Can you tell what someone believes by the length of their hair?
Will Longhairs once again be looked down on as being anti-this & anti-that? Makes me sick.
There are longhairs out there who are for this war. How can you tell
what anybody stands for? I'm feeling down about this.
I am totally anti-war, but I'm with Bush on this, for reasons that maybe some understand. Specially when support is needed for the person who has the very difficult task of fighting all the threats thatare on our heads. He might make some mistakes, but I couldn't imagine myself in such a difficult position. But this isn't a debate over this. We're talking about long hair.
Even if I would be against this particular war, I started growing my hair way before 9/11, so its totally moronic that people think, oh! look, a hippie againsty war. In Vietnam there was plenty of time to grow it out, but this war wasn't thought of like this until 6 months ago, so, if there is any longhair who grew out in opposition to this war, I wanna talk to him about the way he got that amazing growth rate.
When I heard the news that he boiled prisoners in acid &
gouged out the eyes to show an example to their families.
It turned my stomach. I can't sleep at night thinking he is slowly
stripping the skin off living prisoners...I can't sleep thinking
of tortures...I can't and I'm not sorry...
The muslims are not allowed to have LONG hair or drink alcohol...
...and when I heard he drinks & watches tortures...my stomacjh turned
OK, normally I consider myself more Republican than Democrat. I defnitely did not like Al Gore (John McCain got my support). But still, I don't like the idea of this war!!! This is the exact OPPOSITE of what we should be doing. We need to make friends in the Arabic/Muslim world, so they won't want to blow us all up. Most everyone in Europe is very upset with us about this as well. Basically we've succeeded in pissing off the entire world. So ya, long hair and peace all the way :]
First, I don't think there's a steretype of long hair and being anti-war. I think, for the most part, the 'long hair peace loving hippie' stereotype vanished at the end of the 70's.
My two cents on the possible war: I'm not thoroughly familiar with politics and relations with the Middle East during the past 12 years, so my opinion is somewhat uninformed. However, my concern is that leaders such as Saddam and Usama, as tyrants, might end up causing mass global destruction. As your narration implies, LK (Saddam's tortures), Saddam is a couple of cans short of a six pack. We have concrete evidence that Saddam has violated the U.N. mandate of not housing chemical or biological weaponry or other weapons of mass destruction. My concern is for people that might be harmed by Saddam's desire to take over and terrorize others.
However, the lack of support in the U.N. is a bit troubling. Again, I don't know if our action is pre-mature because I don't know the specifics behind tactics that were taken in the Middle East thus far.
So, assuming there is a threat of harm to the U.S. in the near or distant future due to Saddam and his warped sense of thinking, I support the president's actions. I just hope that we don't lose more people than necessary, and that other countries don't side against us by taking up arms. And, of course, hopefully this will be over quick.
That is what I am afraid of.
and the men over there think you're a GIRL if you are a longhair.
Forget it
My hair length has nothing to do with anything but MY personal preference -- political views aside.
As far as the war goes:
I'm not going to get into some big political debate with those who THINK that we aren't doing the right thing by removing EVIL dictators who are bent on destroying us.
**sarcastic mode ON**
Yeah, let's wait 'til one of our major cities is turned into burning, radioactive rubble with many (probably hundreds of) thousands dead (or dying); then complain that we didn't do anything to stop the attacks. Yeah, that'll work.
**sarcastic mode OFF**
So..go ahead [sic] liberals...hate your president and hate the USA. I really don't care.
I just hope Osama and Saddam are eliminated from the gene pool.
That's all I'm going to say on this matter. Period.
Well, if you are talking about a nuke threat then you should be talking about invading Iran and North Korea. Iraq doesn't have a reactor. Why are we invading Iraq if North Korea is verbally threating us and Iran has announced that it is close to weapons grade plutonium?
Osama hates Iraq, he has said it before. Iraq doesn't meet his standard of a theocracy. If we are after the 9/11 criminals then we should be focusing on Al Queda pretty exclusively instead of Iraq...right?
If we aren't just after Al Queda then we should be going after Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Morocco, Sudan, Egypt...well, most of the countries in Africa and many of the countries in Central and South America as well as many of the countries in South East Asia. Maybe it would be a good idea to go after Ireland and even our own country since the administration says that there are many terrorist cells here (and don't forget about Operation Rescue which has terrorized American citizens and which John Ashcroft had to ask after 9/11 that they stop training Al Queda members how to make bombs).
A poll was quoted by the author of the book "What Liberal media?", and in this poll about 50% of Americans asked thought that Saddam was responsible for 9/11 and that most of the hijackers were from Iraq. This is being blatently uninformed. In fact, there is no excuse for being this uninformed...especially one feels the need to comment on the situation. How informed are you?
War is the undisputed worst invention of humankind.
Hey LucksKind. Why are you feeling like this? First of all, are all short haired guys WAR MONGERS? It seems like this is true, especially when some of the trolls from the buzzboard post their arrogance on this board. We all know stereotyping long haired guy as anti-war and short haired guys as war mongers is not correct. Endure this adversity and move on.
I'm pro-war myself. Granted, I wish we didn't have to go to war, but I know that it's necessary to get rid of Maddas Who's Insane...
