I have been growing my hair for a few years and once my hair went
past my sholders I have been combing it down the middle. But I
have noticed that my hair is straight untill the ends. The ends will be curlly.
I would really help me if someone could give my some tips or products
that could make the ends straight.
Thanx,
Kyler
Have you ever tried a product called Frizz Ease??? It tames frizzes to mild curls and if you blow dry it straight, the mane becomes shiny as glass. If I were you I'd keep it natural. I always say be proud of what hair you have.
Get a relaxer.
Hi Kyler,
I've got the same problem as you. I have curly hair, and as it grew longer, the weight of the hair pulls it straight, but the ends are still very curly.
As a solution there are several options:
-Chemical relaxers - These are like a perm in reverse. Your stylist applies a solution of chemicals to alter the molecular structure of the hair and re-align the hair shaft into a straighter form. This is not usually the best solution for curly hair. In many ways, caucasion hair is more diffacult to straighten than ethnic hair, and most chemical relaxers are far more damaging to caucasion hair. I have tried this in the past, even with the new formulations designed for we of European descent, and always to dissatisfactory results.
-Heat-activated relaxers - These are great. Although they usually won't make your hair absolutely straight, they sure help. These you put on your hair, then with a round or paddle brush, (whichever you are most comfortable using), pull your hair straight while using your hairdryer. (Note: aim the air stream of the dryer down the hair shaft to reduce frizziness). I have used several brands, but by far the best is Graham Webb's Stick Straight. GW has a thermal complex that uses the heat of the dryer to activate conditioning agents. Sometimes I need a little extra help at the ends, and I add a little KMS paste to them -but don't over due this.
- Straightening irons - These are like curling irons, but with flat plates. These alone work, but dry and damage your hair, and will make your hair look like straw. I use an iron along with a relaxing lotion (see above), and this works VERY well for me.
A general note. Avoid products with silicone, unless you use a clarifying shampoo at least once a week. My fave clarifying shampoo is Abba Molassas and Baking Soda shampoo -it really works well. Also invest in professional haircare products. In the long run, you'll actually pay less for them and the quality of the products are far superior to drug store brands which usually use waxes to make your hair look good, but will dry and damage your hair.
Also, if/when you have your hair trimmed, have the ends trimmed blunt not layered, as this will help the hair to fall straighter.
Cheers, and good luck
i had my hair permed a few years ago and although it has almost completley grew out my hair is still very bushy and goes curly when wet which looks nice, until it dries! no matter what hair care products i use nothing works, the item i find best is our clothes iron. use it on damp or dry hair with a towel under the hair (to protect yourself) place the iron directly to the hair and slowly move it down the hair shaft. this works perfect and i guarantee you will be happy with the results. however do not do this every day. you will not need to wash your hair every day because the effect does last until you wet your hair, i iron my hair about three times a week and although a little dryer than before i love it!

I've tried almost anything you can think of over the years to get my European curly hair to hang straight. I even used "ethnic" kits once or twice. Found them really damaging. Sometimes I put a lot of mousse in it and wrap it smoothly around my head. Then I dry it with a net and a bonnet dryer. This gets it straight for a couple of hours.
Hask Spray It Straight doesn't work very well either as a way to get my pony tail to hang straight rather than curling up.
I do the whole procedure including holding considerable tension on my hair while blow dyring it. After all the work, I get about 30 minutes of "great hair time" Then it's back to the curls!
If I use a straightening iron and some L'Oreal Hot Twirling Curls
I can get it to look OK for about half a day, if the weather is dry.
Try a product called "Radical Anti-Curl" Your stylist can find it and do it for you works very well without damage.
Hi JC,
Radical Anti-Curl is a chemical process which uses a chemical relaxer developed by Rusk. It is designed for carcasion hair, and is formulated in three 'versions' for various hair porosities.
Radical Anti-Curl works fairly well if you don't have terribly curly hair. If, like me, you have obstinate curls, Radical Anti-Curl does very little.
