how long does hair have to be to be tied in a pony tail. How many inches? My top is between 4 1/2-5 inches and sides a little over 3. Been growing since late november. Got a trim on feb I think. Anyone think i can tie it back by late may/june?

I started growing my hair from a buzz cut in late Feb of 2002, and I still have yet to achieve a length sufficient for tying back w/out straining the hairs.
You might get a high tail by june, but later in the summer is more likely. In the meantime, don't get any trims!
From what I have read, 9 inches is the bare minimum to get all hair into a pony tail..Although my hair is almost 8 inches and I'm no where near being able to tie it back. The bangs barely stay behind my ears for that matter. My guess is at 9 inches the hair in front just barely make it, and probably come out of the tail after awhile.
