Posted this before, but still wondering: How do the girlfriends/admirers of men with long hair wear their hair? Shorter, longer, etc?
LONGEST!!
Uh-oh, sounds like a bit of competition in that longhaired household. ;-)
Mine is actually longer than my wife's but thats only because her idea of a trim is a few inches [and not in fractions]. I get a trim once or twice a year, and then only an inch. This time I'm going to get a couple inches off only to even things up and lose the split-ends.
Fortunately, the husbands is super ringlet curly and even though its to the middle of his back looks more like shoulder blade kind of length and mine is to my knees, so he'll NEVER catch me, but oooooo, I would just hate it if my guy had longer hair than me!!! ; ) I would never cut it till it caught up! (Actually I haven't cut it in twenty years as it is!)
I wouldn't ask him to cut his though, long hair on a man is the best, so virile, so wild, those soft curls behind the ear at the base of the neck, that place where a sideburn turns into a beard, MERCY!
Its an interesting full circle back to the original question though, do lots of you guys have women with hair shorter than yours?
Best wishes to all!

Actually, I used to have almost-to-my-waist hair but mine is so fine, all it did was tangle and look unhealthy. My ex-husband had such a thick curly head of gorgeous hair but it was shorter than mine. Finally I got sick of mine and cut it to shoulder-length (then shorter, which was a mistake but it grew back) so his was longer. Now he is gone, my hair is still shoulder length, and I use it as a minimum length for guys I date.
Yes I'd like to know the answer to this!

Well Dawn, it's a tie in our houshold. My husband and I each wear our hair about 8 inches below our shoulders. Because we are almost the same height, it is sometimes hard to tell us apart from behind. We occassionally get the strange looks, but most people we encounter really have fun with it. I don't think this will last much longer, because I finally convinced my husband to let his hair grow really long. I saw the famous hair stylist Jose Eber on TV recently and loved his long, thick hair. My husband's should look similar to Jose's hair, at least I hope. We are also the parents of a semi-long haired three year old. We cut his hair short on the sides but are letting the back grow long for a while.
My best friend is married to a great guy with long hair. Together they own their own hair salon. He is always getting compliments on his hair from their clients. She wears her hair very short, almost like a man's business haircut.
My sister is dating a guy who wears a 12 inches braid. Her hair is maybe a little shorter than mime. So I don't believe long haired guys attract women with any particular hairstyle.
This topic still up?
Well, my wife's been growing her's out since becoming homebound about two or three years ago. It's just reaching the middle of her back now.
I really havent paid much attention, but now I will..
RVE..
My hair is about 3/4 of ways down my back. Its pretty curly so if I straightened it, it would probably be right at my waist. However, I'm only 5 feet tall, so that might not be very long.

My hair length changes. It's long, then short then long again.
For the majority of my life it has been to my waist. Unfortunately, once it gets past my shoulders it becomes stringy, limp, lifeless, and it sticks to my head. In short, (no pun intended) it looks like hell. I truly envy those who have heads of full, curly, lucious locks.
My natural color is "dead mouse dark blonde". Miss Clairol does not take at the ends (last 8") so this adds to the bad hair dilemma. I have been unable to find a stylist who can perm my hair at this length without turning it into a frizzed bush. After about three weeks the bush dies and my hair limps out again.
Currently it is quite short. It's styled as a cheek-length bob which is shorter in the back than the front. It has body and fullness short. I also can successfully enhance my color.
I prefer my own hair long.....My husband prefers it long. It looks awful long. I cancelled my last hair appointment to let it grow again.
Why? I am not sure. I keep hoping the texture will change each time I grow it back. Stupid wishful thinking I know.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to liven dead hair, let me know. If not, I just may end up looking like Bettie Page.
