Hello all,
I am a 20 year old college kid that is trying to grow my hair out. I have real thick reddish-brown hair. It is very hard to do anythign with it. I have went 2 months now without getting it cut. It is starting to show signs that it is gonna curl up on the sides. I have my little brother shave my neck once a week, but theres this part of my neckline that connects to the back of my hair. It doesnt look bad but I could see in the future of it looking bad. I bet I could go to the barber and get my hair line higher to where it usually is when I get my hair cut, but I don't want to really. I was wondering what u all did about that hairline thing on the back of your neck. I was also wondering how I need to treat my hair and what shampoos and condioners are good for it. When I style it I usually comb it down while its wet and then use gel.

Hey there,
My advice to you would be to stop the uphill struggle right away - the back will always look atrocious as you go through the 'awkward' phase. Stop shaving the back and just wait it out.
