OK, I know this is a hair messageboard but is there some kind of sideburns message board for those who would like to know what sideburns are back in style. Call me crazy but muttenchops are becoming back in style. Not the kind Elvis sported but a more modified version I think skinny sidburns, or most commonly known as "shape ups" are nasty and becomming to common amongst teens. I think if you have them skinny in the beginning and let them grow fat below your ears into a muttenchop, its rocks! I dont usually sport any other facial hair, because mustaches and goatees just arent as cool as sideburns. Any thoughts opinions on this matter or sideburns altogether?
I've let mine grow out this year to help deflect the "yes ma'am"s
(sometimes bugs me when people are that easily confused!).
With an astigmatism in my eyesight, however, I've been known to
trim the unevenly with a razor in the blurry morning, and had to
get stubbly for a couple of weeks to even 'em out.
Because my facial hair is reddish and kinda wiry, it can look rather
disheveled. And when I tried a goatee, I had too much grey on the
chin for my comfort!
So the sideburns are down to my jaws, but trimmed thinner so they
don't fatten my face. I like a sharp point on the end, and simply
bring the razor down to a sort of bell-bottom angle on the bottom
of them. It helps them to stick out a bit from my hair when it's
worn down, and doesn't deflect from my boyish jawline!
Might try them a bit shorter and pointing our further from about
2/3 of the way down the ear later on -- but will have to have a
week off to be stubbly to get enough on the upper cheekbone area
to make the points work.
How 'bout you? What works for you?

I would think the Beard and Moustache board would be the place.
