That sounds cool (didn't check the link); but there's already a three hour movie with some great hair -- Lord Of The Rings. Well, actually there's two if you count The Two Towers.
ANyway, just my two cents worth. Later.
I sent for and received that video several months ago. When I put it in the VCR, all I got was background music, absolutely no picture what-so-ever. This is just a guess, but I suspect that a lot of packages that are sent from overseas are now scanned through some type of xray device. I'm guessing that the process erases the video portion of the tape. I don't think I'll ever really know for sure. When I emailed the guy in Italy who sells the video, he offered to sell me still photos for another $40. I didn't order the stills. Just thought I'd pass this along as a word of precaution.
Since you got it from Europe, it's possible that the video was made for European television, which is on the PAL format, whereas US TV uses NTSC. I suggest you take the tape to a store specializing in videos from India or Pakistan (since they also use PAL), and ask
1) if it really is a PAL tape, and 2) if they can convert it for you to NTSC. That worked for me for a tape that I got from South America!
(Of course, converting here means that they copy the material from a PAL tape to an NTSC tape; you end up taking both tapes home with you).
Thanks, I'll try that.
if you plan on getting a lot of forign videos theres also an adapter you can buy that will slow the video down and let you play it on a us vcr, its better to do that because i think you should be aware that if you send the video to a place for conversion it will loose a lot of the quality, more then it would if you made a copy yourself
(pal tapes are recorded on a much faster speed, thats why if you play back on on a NTSC vcr all you will get is audio that sounds sped up, sounds like alvin and the chipmunks)
it sounds like the same effect as if you play a record on the wrong speed, LP collectors will know what i mean
also i know there a bit pricey but theres also some vcr's out there are formated to play any format
they are top end and will cost a small fortune though
