Hi there. I've been growing my hair for 7 months now. My hair is quite wavy and coarse.
My question is: people with such hair should brush their hair or just comb it? If I can brsuh it, then, what kind of brsuh should I use?
brushing---
And idea from the Breck ads and similar hype directed to young women 50 years ago. The scalp responds to simulation to keep a good blood flow to the folicles, but brushing is highly overrated. Use your fingers, a wide tooth comb, and indeed a good quality brush if it does not STRETCH OR PULL YOUR HAIR.
Develope your own technique based on experimentation with your own hair. I suggest this as an example not a recipe: I shampoo my hair only once a week, though I may rinse it several other times and massage a little coniditioner in. When I shampoo my hair, I know itis going to be dry, so I towell dry it and then add a tiny bit of vo-5 rubbed between the palms of my hands. The I dry it again, for the oil in the vo--5 emulsifiies and I can get out more moisture.
Then I comb it into place. When nearly dry, I add a little jell and that is when I may brush it straight to get the waves under control.
If it turns out too flat on top, then I may use three or four brush rollers rolled away from my part, to add back some of the curl I have taken away.
And then there are days when I wake up and have no time and....
