I wanted to grow out my hair a few times but always ended up in having damaged hair.
As my scalp produces oil very fast and as my hair is thin I have to wash it everyday. There are a few friends of mine having similar hair and they say that they don´t have to wash their hair everyday.
Is it possible that I do something wrong? Maybe I wash my hair wrong...Could you (people with same hair as me) tell me how exactely you are washing you hair? I know it´s a stupid question but maybe it helps...
I dont think its because of your washing method, some people just produce oils faster. Ie seen some specialist shampoos for oily hair, try these, I think anti dandruff shampoo is good for it too
I have to wash my hair every day or it looks disgusting. And the ends are damaged, sure, but if you go in for a trim be careful. My last "trim" cost me 9" of hair. Then the ends that get trimmed become damaged eventually. Take a small sharp scissirs and periodically trim your own hair. Twist it so the ends stand out and trim them. But whatever you do, keep washing your hair.

How far have you grown out your hair in your attempts and do you do other things like bleach your hair, etc.
Not stupid at all. I have very similar hair to you.. (thin, oily).
I find that I must wash my hair everyday. Otherwise, it smells and look terrible. But, I just wash it without shampooing. I only condition it every 2 days and shampoo it every week. I use leave-in to control frizz. I use Aussie products almost exclusively.
I don't use jell that much. My bangs (fringe) come below my nose and can be pulled below my lower lip. I've been growing for 9 months +.
Hope I helped someway.
