Seriously... nobody has an afro like this! when I don't use gel (L'oreal melting gel) I have the biggest hair... It's around 4.5 inches now and I am being patient... Hopefully it will weigh down soon but I know I need another 4 inches to have a ponytail...
One really cool thing about the "white man afro"... women love it ;) seriously they are so intrigued by it... it's amazing... it definetely makes this stage less painful...
If anyone has any ideas besides bandanas or gel to make my hair "sit" down I would appreciate it... other than that patience!
Try Infusium leave in conditioner. I have very long hair now, but when I started out it was afro city. I got the John Bon Jovi comments day and night back then. Well, at least back then John's hair was cool at the time, so I didn't really mind. The waves just bush out because their is no length to hold it down. Infusium (the liquid) leave in conditioner really helps, trust me. Saturate your hair and leave it in all day, it will kill the frizz and tame the afro quite a bit until you get it longer. lengths but I never had the need to "push" it down.
