Like i said before, I have thick, dark, straight but a little wavy hair. Been growing for 6 months. My bangs reach my nose tip and my side hair only leaves a little bit of my ear lob showing. I need tips on a hair style suited for me right now. My hair parts straight down the middle naturally. But it looks big due to the thickness.
I know it's tough right now. It's going to be pretty difficult to really style it for a little while. Your options right now are pretty much:
1. BIG. If it suits your personality, do the white man afro. I found that girls LOVED it.
2. Slick it with gel. Not my fave, but many here seem to like it.
3. If your work/school environment permits, bandannas and hats can be sanity-savers through this weird time.
Whatever you do, don't try to overbrush it or overstyle it. I think you really just have to face up to the fact that it's going to look a little unruly for a little while but the results will be worthwhile. I'm a little more than a year ahead of you, and believe me when I tell you that it's totally worth it!
