Everybody says they think I'd look better with short hair rather than long. Although some say that they still think I look good, and a few have even said they like my hair, but still all of them say I'd look better with short hair. My hair is only slightly past my shoulders, and I still plan on doing a lot of growing. I hated the way I looked when I had short hair, but I love my hair now. I can just stand in front of the mirror forever admiring it. And also I am big on being different. That's not why I want long hair, the whole world could have long hair and I'd still want it. But I want to stand out. I don't want to be ur average Joe in the crowd. And my hair is what makes me different. I don't know, it just kinda frustrates me that people say that, cuz I don't look that good with short hair I don't think. And I want long hair for many more years.
You just summed up everything Im feeling currently. I have people and friends come up to me and say, "To be honest, I thought you looked.....", Im sure you can guess the rest. Although my hair isn't even considered long yet, I get people telling me to get a hair cut, or long hair won't look good, or this or that. I was about to give up, but I really love the way my hair feels long, and I have ALWAYS wanted long hair, just like you. Grow your hair for yourself, if you try to make everyone happy, then you'll only make yourself miserable, and you definitely lose a piece of yourself when you give into what other people think of you. Keep it growing, it took you alot of work, care, and time to grow it to your shoulders. Don't let other people tell you how you should look. Your old enough to "dress yourself" so to speak. :)
DAMN STRAIGHT!!!!! most people who say all of this usually are too scared to try anything different. I have my hair not really long but longish and people keep saying "get it cut"..."when you gonna get it cut?"....there must be a reason why you want it long sokeep going. we all go through the awkward stage and stuff but stick with it.
In any case the real friends you have are the ones that spur you on to keep growing it and stuff. im sure the the people who tell you to cut it arent your real friends.

People can be ignorant. They judge how you look like during the awkward stage. OF COURSE YOU DONT LOOK GOOD. How the hell can they tell what you are going to look like when it's fully long. It's like a painter making a painting and only being half done and someone saying "It doesnt look good". No SH** IT ISNT DONE. When people don't realize you are letting it grow, that is even more annoying. IF YOU SEE MY HAIR GETTING LONGER AND ME NOT CUTTING IT, DOESNT IT GIVE YOU A CLUE DUMBA**. Ignore stupid comments is the main point.
Simple, just don't pay attention to them. Your opinion is all that
counts. I know that its hard to ignore them sometimes, but it gets
easier as time goes on and as your hair gets more and more awesome.
It will make you forget them.
I have (had) that problem. Most of the girls I talk to used to say "you look better with short hair", but now they think my hair looks cool. The guys who aren't really my freinds just say I need to get my hair cut. I just tell them no and that im growing it out. My REAL freinds will tell me my hair is getting long or that it looks cool and give me positive comments.

What are you getting worked up over? Your hair is still pretty short. One thing I really dislike is guys acting like they have hair and dont. One of my ex-friends at school does that. I have 10 months of growth and I dont boast about it. Hmm..

What I mean is that for the last 4 years my schoolmates have known my i've had about .5-1 inch long hair. So to them 4 inches of hair on me seems long.
