My hair is not quite a long enough for a pontytail and I need to put some product in it to hold until I get to ponytail length. What's the difference between mousse and gel? Which one's not as harsh on your hair? What do they do differently?

If your going to use a gel product, just make sure it is Alcohol Free. It is the alcohol that is harsh on your hair. Aussie makes alcohol free gel. Another good product that I use sometimes is "Sebastian Wet", but I am not sure if it is alcohol free.
